Chason Disheroon
- Interim Director
Chason Disheroon joined the Baylor University School of Music in March 2019 as Associate Director of the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies and currently serves in the role of Interim Director. In these capacities, he oversees the Center’s daily operations and coordinates a range of annual events. He works closely with key initiatives such as Worship Lab and the Alleluia Conference and played a leading role in writing and executing the Center’s first external grant, Building Bridges to the Future. He also serves as a principal investigator for the Center’s Worship Lab Initiative, a research‑driven project focused on the study and development of youth participation and leadership in Christian worship. Through partnerships with local churches, observational research, and programmatic assessment, the initiative investigates congregational song, worship leadership formation, and scalable models for youth worship ministry, with the goal of strengthening the long‑term vitality of church music and worship practices.
Mr. Disheroon holds a Master of Music in Church Music from Baylor University, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia and an Associate of Fine Arts in Music from Young Harris College, Young Harris, GA. He is deeply committed to cultivating worship leadership and has supported the Center’s programming in various capacities since 2011.
In addition to his work at Baylor, Chason brings over fifteen years of music ministry leadership experience in churches across Texas and Georgia. He also serves on the board of directors for the Central Texas Choral Society.
Chason is married to Nikita, an elementary music educator in Waco. They are the proud parents of two sons, Parker and Taylor, and share their home with a mischievous cat named Leonard.
